23 Minutes In Hell

I just watched the DVD "23 Minutes In Hell" by Bill Wiese. It's about this guy who goes to bed one night and at 3.23am, God gives him a real life experience in hell for 23 minutes from the perspective of a potential believer. The DVD shows him sharing his experience about the many many terrors of hell and what's it's actually like to be in eternal damnation for just 23 minutes. This narration proves and confirms one very important thing : the Bible is 110% true, without a single doubt in mind. Bill Wiese uses various scriptures in his narration to support his real life vision from God. It turns out he experienced hell exactly the way the Bible describes hell.

"23 Minutes In Hell" really left a mark in my life that will always remain. We always tend to happily live our lives on earth sometimes in ignorance that there is actually an eternity awaiting us. We only really become aware of eternity in times of trouble and in our quiet time. It's quite sad really because God entrusted us with our lives on earth in order to prepare us for eternity. So by right we should be living every moment of our lives with eternity in mind and in preparation for eternity. "23 Minutes In Hell" also indirectly stresses the importance of bringing people to Christ before it's too late. In Matthew 9:37, it says, "The harvest is ripe, but the labourers are few". It's time for us to stand up and redeem this world for Christ. We are living for such a time as this and we cannot procrastinate any longer. "The time has come to stand for all we believe in".

Well, these are the things that I've come to see even clearer as a result of watching Bill Weise's narration and I thought I'd just share it. If any of you guys want the "23 Minutes In Hell" DVD, just let me know. I'll be more than willing to pass you guys the AVI file.

Calvary Carnival '09

After all that time, the 2009 Calvary Carnival finally came around the corner. It was a crazy, busy few days for me as I helped out with the preparations as well as the management of a stall on the Carnival day itself.

So it all started on Wednesday evening as I headed to church immediately after my paper to help with the painting of the dunking machine. It was horrible weather really to do painting and the preparations for our youth Carnival stalls. Well, we did complete what was to be done in the wet and cool weather. The painting experience was really funny and "racist" if you wanna put it that way as I've never been so white in my life (the undercoat was white and I messed up my hands with it).

Before I knew it, it was already Friday night. Immediately after playing for prayer meet, we rushed to Bukit Jalil to do the usual last-minute preparations. Due to some hiccups, the dunking machine was only transported to Bukit Jalil at 11.30pm and thus we began putting it together. There were some minor complications setting up but we managed to complete it by 1.30am.

Less than 7 hours later, I was back at the Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Club for the Carnival proper. It was really sad that I missed the launch though. I was so tired from the previous night that I slept in longer than expected. Well, it was absolutely exhausting but I enjoyed Carnival a lot. Most of the time I was helping out at our Calvary Youth dunking machine stall and I got dunked indirectly later on in the day as Alex chucked a full bucket of water over my head getting me soaked. To add to that, people also kept throwing wet sponges on me. However, Carnival would have been less fun if it were not for these wonderful peeps. Another interesting thing is the food I ate for lunch. I ate some kind of interesting African food (served with really spicy tomato rice, a chicken wing and an interesting dish of which I cannot remember its name). It was a rather interesting meal as I decided to try eating something out of the ordinary.

Lastly, one of the many delights of the Calvary Carnival '09 was none other than...

FAMOUS CHIN COOKIES!!!

After such a long and patient wait, I finally got to taste Famous Chin cookies again (awesomely delicious and pretty addictive too).

Overall, just wanna give God all the glory for such an amazing Calvary Carnival '09, for the funds raised, the good weather, the fellowship and bonding as well as the joy of seeing all the Calvarites united in building God's Kingdom!!!

A Really Memorable Three Days At Church

My eventful and memorable three days all started with two amazing sessions with Rev. Margaret Seaward. I enjoyed every second of both the Thursday and Friday sessions firstly because what Rev. Margaret said is so applicable in our generation /the times we're living in now. Secondly, it was so amazingly encouraging to see a woman so passionate about God and His Word at that age. As a result of listening to her preach, I now have this great desire to give God all I've got regardless of my age and situation. So that concluded my Thursday and Friday.

Saturday was also very memorable in various ways. First and foremost, Darren Here's amazing worship. It was definitely not our doing and our strength but God's amazing works through the worship package that made it the way it was. I was completely exhausted after an amazing practice but then I was really encouraged and boosted up after Darren shared his story behind the worship package which was the importance of standing in times of challenges. In the end, I really enjoyed myself playing (one of the best worship packages that I can remember playing for honestly) but most importantly it was an amazing sight to see Calvary Youth so on fire, shouting unto God with a voice of triumph!!!

Later that night, we had a post-PMR party held for those dudes and dudettes who had recently completed their exams. Again, it was a time to remember as it was so so encouraging to see the Chi people bonding and chatting. I am also so grateful for the opportunity to have met 4 new people whom I've never known before. Well, I pray and hope that this is the beginning of even greater stuff to come for Chi. I love you CHI-ans!!!

Recording/Jamming@CCDP

I went jamming with Mark, Gabe, Eugene, Darren and Karl in church. I went there and Karl and Alex were experimenting with the new mixer placed in CAC. Karl was actually also trying out his song by layering using GarageBand. So we finally started jamming at about 11am, took a break for lunch and continued until about 3pm. During that time, we also managed to record two songs which was an accomplishment.

Our first few tries were really unbalanced and a bit messy but after we started to get the hang of it, the tracks really turned out okay. It was really cool to see what five musicians, five instruments, a mixer and GarageBand could do in 3 hours. I had an awesome time doing what I'm so extremely passionate about and will definitely do it again soon!!!

OM Burger@Ampang

After Lab and Friday Prayer Meet, Darren, Brian, Keane, Mark, Gabe and I headed to Ampang to try the supposedly best burger in Malaysia as stated by some guy in a newspaper or something like that. I wasn't very optimistic that the stall will actually be opened due to the rain and Hari Raya approching. Well, we still took the chance and woohoo, it was open!!!

Now, coming to the burger itself. I didn't want to put my hopes too high so that I wouldn't get too disappointed if it didn't really meet my expectations. Well, tastewise it is pretty similar to Master Burger in Damansara Utama but texturewise, Master Burger is slightly better off. So after trying the "top two" burger stalls in Malaysia, my preference is definitely Master Burger also due to the distance. However, it was a good experience and also an awesome 2 hours spent with amusing and witty friends.

The Lost Symbol, 15-09-09

So the long wait is over. I finally went to MPH, 1 Utama to collect Dan Brown's latest release, The Lost Symbol, probably the most anticipated book of the year 2009. I was a bit irritated with the MPH staff though. They said they'd call me about the exact time the book is going to be released. However, I waited and waited but no call came. So I decided to call them. They then said that the book was released much earlier in the morning.

What a waste!!! If I had collected the book in the morning, I could have started reading it. With all these complications, I could only start reading later at night. Well, at least I have it now and I'm gonna be occupied with it for the next few days at least (I really have to practice my time management skills with my studying etc.). Anyway, I just hope it turns out to be an excellent book like its preceding ones that were superb.
